Tom is now retired after a career as an Architect in Local Government. He studied architecture at The Edinburgh College of Art, graduated in 1978 and became a Registered Architect in 1979.
He has drawn and painted from an early age and attended many related evening classes over the years. After a few years of retirement Tom joined a local art club and started exhibiting. He first became aware of the SSAA in 2016 when he attended, 'The Vital Art ' exhibition at the Stirling Smith Gallery and became a member the following year.

Membership of the Society is open to all registered architects, past and present students of architecture and those who have worked in architecture, planning and landscape in Scotland. Annual membership is currently only £20, with a reduced rate of £10 for students.
